Conventional Car Insurance
When considering the sky-high price of conventional car insurance, it's easy to understand just why so many South Africans have opted to carry on without it.
South African insurance companies are starting to understand the need of lower income locals for cheap car insurance.
When offered car insurance, they jump at the opportunity however.
For instance, just take Zandile Nxomani, a student studying engineering at the University of Cape Town. She had saved up every cent from a young age to be able to buy a car to take with her to university, however was now unable to afford a comprehensive insurance plan for it.
While on her way home for the extended winter vacation she ran out of petrol and was stranded on the side of a rural road. Nervous about her surroundings, she locked herself in the car and called her insurance.
With cheap car insurance plans and specialised schemes, South Africans can have the comfort of knowing that help will be available to them should the require it.

Car Specifications
I have thought about it and decided to
finally upgrade my vehicle as a result of my current vehicle being so out
dated. It is time to purchase a new vehicle and in the end have the latest in
the market. I don’t have the time to travel to any of the dealerships as I
realize it can be very time consuming. I fancy surfing the web and getting all
the data I need on the cars I'm curious about, as it would be similar data as
any sales person would give me. I was searching for reviews and specs on
specific automotive brands and came upon a web site named CarMag. This web site
told me everything I needed to know concerning the cars I was curious about. It
gave me terrific data on these cars below:
After researching all the varied latest
automotive brands I finally made a choice to upgrade my new vehicle to the
Jeep, as I actually thoroughly enjoy being outdoors and taking part in 4x4
trails therefore this automotive without doubt came highest to fulfilling my
needs.

Fiat Panda Debut
The new Fiat Panda recently made its debut at the Fiat Panda Paris Motor Show. After waiting a long time for this come out
I was ecstatic to read about this a short while ago on Carmags Motor Shows and Events page. Although not in the same competing
class as the Fiat 500 Zagato or the Fiat-500x, the Panda really stands out head and shoulders for it's style and amazing
accessories. Fuel economy also much improved on this model to make for happy drivers with more money in their pockets thanks
to less cash spent on fuel. I can't wait to get my hands on this and drive it on the open road, will let you know my personal findings.

Diesel Engine Trouble
I've been driving a diesel for many years now. The cash I save on fuel more than makes up for
any of the down sides in my opinion. Although lately I started noticing something which perturbed me
somewhat. For some unknown reason whenever I would change gears a cloud of black smoke would form
behind my car! How something like this would happen is beyond me, so I took to the internet to try and
get to the bottom of it. Luckily I stumbled across www.carmag.co.za on which I found this smokey-toyota-rav4-diesel article. It really put my mind at ease as a Toyota Rav4 is a reliable car. I have now taken it in for
the service it needs and can't wait to have my car back in good nick!

Keep Yourself Covered
I have learned through bitter experience the importance of being prepared for any eventuality. Probably
the one thing that has held me back the most financially in my life so far, was being admitted to hospital
without having a hospital plan in place. Before that even took place I didn't pay much attention
anyone who told me about life insurance, investment or even car insurance. But I can tell you one thing,
these days I do, and I can rest easier for it. My advice these days, to my family, friends and those
closest to me is, keep yourself covered one day you will happier for it.

Hyundai i20 1,4 GL
I like shopping around for cars and I'm always looking for the next best thing to buy. Although I'm
not looking in the top end of the market, I'm still concerned with getting the most I can for my money. At the moment I drive a Ford Fiesta, it's safe reliable and meets my needs, however after reading about the Hyundai i20 1,4 GL I'm beginning to reconsider. a six speed manual gearbox, revised nose, rear park assist and steering wheel controls are just a few of the adaptions as compared to the last model and I've got to say, I'm loving it! I'm just glad I found Carmag's website. Just nice to find one site with all the details you need all in one place.

New Renault Clio
The new Renault Clio is finally out! Checked it out at carmag.co.za and I couldn't be more excited
as I've been waiting to see this on the market for some time now.
It's right within my
price range and I have to say I'm loving the look and specifications of this
baby so far. Now that I've seen the turbocharged 900 cc three-cylinder petrol
engine and just the general look and feel I'm really impressed with what the
Renault team has done with this.
Even comparing to the Renault
Fluence 1,6 Authentique, Grand Scénic 1,6 dCi Dynamique, Renault Koleos 2,5
Dynamique 4x4 CVT and the Renault
Logan 1,6 Expression I'm still buying this, as soon as it hits SA shores!

Adventure Motoring Magazine
After some time of thinking about it
I’ve finally decided to take the plunge and buy myself a much deserved 4x4.
Basically a nice toy which enables me to get onto the dirt roads outside of the
bustling city and enjoy my time off to the maximum! After much searching online
and struggling to find decent reviews, compared with specs and prices, I
finally stumbled upon leisurewheels.co.za.
Their site offers all the 4x4 prices & specs for 4x4 vehicles in South Africa.
There are many SUVs to choose from and you are able view all their
specifications. They are basically an
adventure motoring magazine for the 4x4 enthusiast in South Africa, down to
accessories or whatever you’re looking for.
I was stuck between the Time Warp: Land Rover Defender 110, V9X Nissan Navara and the Toyota
Prado D-4D, but after careful comparison finally ended up choosing the Land
Rover and I have to say I couldn’t be happier!

How to handle Johannesburg's busy roads in your hired car

While all of South Africa’s roads offer varying degrees of madness, Johannesburg’s roads definitely take the cake and serve up hectic driving conditions both in and out of peak hours with a side order of manic drivers. If you’re not used to these conditions then tackling them can be a daunting task. It’s best to prepare yourself for any obstacles you may face in your hired vehicle when taking to The City of Gold’s roads.
First and foremost, don’t be afraid to ask questions at the Johannesburg airport car hire services before putting your foot on the pedal. Use the time to finalize driving routes and to ask about any chaotic areas you may encounter en route. Most car hire services are happy to help where they can and are probably the most familiar with the surrounds. If you haven’t formulated a particular route yet, then this is the best time to ask for a few pointers on shortcuts – it’s better to use areas with the least amount of traffic even if they may add a bit of travel time to your adventure.
Also familiarize yourself with all the service stations en route should you need one. These stops can also be a good place to ask for directions which is why it’s equally important to keep an eye out for landmarks and other marks that can better help you describe your destination to someone in the instance that you get lost. Remember that it’s always better to pull over and check the map rather than to get flustered and stressed out in traffic.
If you do intend to pull over, remember that the emergency lane must be utilized for as short a time as possible and at all costs do not pull over onto a shoulder. Be careful when pulling back into traffic and ensure you pull off knowing exactly where you are headed. The highways of Johannesburg are filled with sure drivers who know where they are going which means they will unfortunately have little to know patience for a driver who seems to be fumbling and not driving at the required speed.
Always keep on the lookout for traffic signs and familiarize yourself with the rules of the road in certain areas and the acceptable speed in order to avoid a road-raged driver. Stay calm if you miss an exit and be aware of sudden changes in direction. It’s also wise to take in unfamiliar things in your surroundings in order to better prepare for something unexpected or out of the ordinary occurring. You can always switch on the radio to listen out for traffic reports which will help you to avoid any hectic areas or accidents.
If you equip yourself and familiarise yourself with all parts of Johannesburg roads beforehand, you’re bound to tackle the roads like a confident GP driver.
